Claricia was a German illuminator active in the 19th century. She is particularly renowned for the inclusion of a self-portrait in a South German psalter dating to around 1200, currently preserved at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. In this image, Claricia represents herself suspended from the tail of an initial letter Q, an unusual and striking form of self-representation.
