ELUL - THE MONTH OF SELICHOT Every day during the entire month o0f Elul special Selichot prayers are sung. Selichot are prayers of repentance, asking HaShem to open wide the gates of repentance so that we can walk through and return to His embrace. Selichot prayers are sung in preparation for the upcoming High Holy Days of Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur, when we stand before HaShem and give account of who we are, who we have been and who we intend to be in the upcoming year.
