(The Center Square) – Sound Transit is adding $60 million to the budget for its East Link light rail extension, even as the project nears completion and is now projected to open fully later this year.

SEATTLE — The wait will be over on March 28. That date is Sound Transit’s promise that riders will, at last, be able to cross Lake Washington by train — rolling over Interstate 90 on the Homer M.

He now suggests it will have long-term impacts, even if Sound Transit can finally complete it all.
